Silverlight Pushed Down Your Throat

So, it has started. Well, maybe it has been going on for a while, but I just noticed myself this morning.

This morning, when I accepted the Windows Updates on my wifes laptop running Vista, I had the option of accepting the optional Silverlight 1.0 browser plugins as well. Previously, I have blogged about the big advantage, that Adobe has with their flashplayer runtime, because it is installed everywhere. Soon, this might change.

Does anyone of Microsofts plans on how aggressively they will be pushing Silverlight through the updates? Will it be Vista only, or also pushed onto XP? Forced instead of optional? Guess we need .Net runtime too, which is a bit larger a thing to push through the update system, isn’t it?
